this interpretation of anakin has transformed my experience of the prequels. to the point where I recently horrified my friends by suggesting it might actually be awesome if Hayden Christensen were to appear as a force ghost in the new trilogy (the ones directed by Rian Johnson, cause I don’t trust JJ one bit). I mean can you imagine if someone actually put live-action Anakin on-screen with nuanced motivation and dialogue?! I don’t need him to be as crazy as in this comic, I just want to see Young Force Ghost Anakin talk to old Luke and Leia and tell them something sad about Padme, I would drown the theater in my tears.
Thanks! I wish Yoda and Ani had more scenes together so I could draw him more often. Here are all of Yoda’s appearances in the comic:
S1E2, “Rising Malevolence”
S2E1, “Holocron Heist” (one of my favorite comics)
S2E3, “Children of the Force”
Thank you! You are far too kind but sometimes i secretly also believe my sketchy anakin comic is the best thing on tumblr so thank you for feeding my delusions of grandeur
Anakin has beautiful hair.
Thenku. It’s never too late.
She might, tho.
Thank you! The entire Clone Wars series is fodder for Anakin Needs Help, so as long as people keep enjoying the comic and I maintain the mental stamina to devote 2 hours a week to drawing it, I will get to Season 6 eventually. Fingers crossed!
Thank you, this is great to hear. I am intimately familiar with the healing power of binge-reading other people’s fan content, so I’m glad my comic helped you feel a little better :D
Everyone wants a piece of the chosen one.
ahuuda said: These are fantastic- and they never fail to ring true to Anakin's... uh. Extremely validated and well reasoned thought processes. Plus I binge read your archive and laughed until my eyes watered, so there's that!
Thank you! I love binge reading comics so it feels great to know you had a good time plowing through Anakin Needs Help. Glad it rings true to you - for all the hate the prequels get I really believe they created something special in Anakin. Even if the character didn’t have the best lines or direction in the movie it’s not hard to see the foundation for a fascinatingly complex protagonist.
Edit: “Girl Talk with Ani and Obi” is practically an Anakin Needs Help subgenre. Here are some past highlights.

Thank you! It’s always really nice to get a note like this. Here, have a picture of Anakin looking uncharacteristically kawaii.
